What is Spring Picnic?

While Spring Picnic is such a fun evening with family and friends, it is also our school’s fundraiser. There are so many great ways to contribute to our fundraising efforts. The sale of dinner tickets, t-shirts, banners and black & white photos all go directly towards supporting our wonderful school. Class socials hosted by our incredible teachers and a silent auction of class art projects also raise significant funds. Additionally, underwriting and sponsorship opportunities are available to families, friends, and businesses.

Proceeds from our 2019 Spring Picnic fundraiser will target three main goals: providing communication screens for each classroom door for posting up-to-date news of classroom activities and school events; completing the Nature Explore outdoor classroom certification; and, adding to our children’s scholarship funds. Our fundraiser also supports classroom enhancements like our aquariums and furnishings, teacher continuing education, and student scholarships, all of which make our school a model of best practices.

Our Fundraisers

There are many great ways to support our school through the various fundraisers offered by the Spring Picnic committee.

Dinner Tickets

Spring Picnic is a free event open to all family and friends of St. Luke’s Day School. However, if you and your family would like to enjoy a delicious catered meal provided by Prego, dinner tickets must be purchased in advance.

This year’s silent auction will consist of one-of-a-kind artwork created by our Day School classes. Online bidding will open one week before the picnic on April 19th and bidding will close at 6:30 pm on the evening of picnic.

class socials

Every spring our teachers generously host class socials for our students, which are small “parties” or gatherings after school hours. From Teddy Bear Picnics to Glow Stick Dance parties, these socials are a huge hit with students and parents alike.

The campus enhancements, teacher ongoing education programs, and student scholarships wouldn’t be possible without the support of our underwriters. Consider making a tax deductible donation to our school and know that your contribution is touching the lives of many.

Spring Picnic t-shirts are available to purchase in a variety of children and adult sizes. They will be delivered to your child’s classroom the week before Spring Picnic. They are first come, first serve, so order your shirts early!

Every spring our talented black and white photo chairs spend countless hours photographing every student at St. Luke’s Day School. These pictures adorn our hallways in the weeks leading up to picnic and are available to purchase.

Show your loved one or teacher how much you appreciate them by purchasing a banner to be displayed prominently on Blanton Field during the Surf’s Up Spring Picnic. Each banner will be hung on the day of the picnic and delivered to you to keep afterward.

We are so grateful to all of the local businesses who generously donate products and services to our Spring Picnic. From cupcakes and soccer balls to gift cards and class passes, we accept all donations and are thrilled to support our local businesses with publicity at our event.

Your Impact

Thanks to the generosity of our SLDS family, friends, and sponsors, we’ve been able to make significant gains that have touched the lives of our students, teachers, faculty, and community.

Since hosting the first spring picnic as our annual fundraiser:

Your contributions have contributed to the playing and learning together of over 2,000 SLDS children.

In addition to campus improvements, the funds raised from Spring Picnic go directly toward scholarships for students who could not otherwise attend St. Luke’s Day School, for the duration of their attendance.

Years Serving communities

Not only have the funds raised from Spring Picnic gone towards improving our school, but they’ve also helped our community through various charities, such as Hurricane Harvey Relief and CCSC.
